Technology, nature, and well-being guide a new project in Balneário Piçarras

In Balneário Piçarras, on the coast of Santa Catarina, the Uno development proposes a closer relationship between nature, architecture, and well-being. Designed by Studio Leo Maia, with landscape architecture by Tellini Vontobel Arquitetura, the development adopts an organic and biophilic language, conceived to enhance visual permeability and integration with the surrounding landscape. The building makes extensive use of glass and features an implantation that offers 360° views, from the beach to the hills surrounding the region.

The presence of nature also extends into the architecture itself. In addition to the ground-level gardens, the building incorporates suspended gardens distributed across different floors, creating points of contact with greenery throughout various levels of the building.

It is within this context that Atelier de Iluminação develops a lighting solution that seeks to go beyond conventional lighting, incorporating new technologies to respond to the specific characteristics of the project and provide a more comfortable experience integrated with its surroundings.

Lighting in Harmony with the Night Sky

Among the strategies adopted is the application of principles associated with the Dark Sky protocol, which guides the development of lighting solutions designed to reduce light pollution and preserve the relationship with the night sky.

In the vertical gardens, the project will use extremely low color temperatures, ranging from 1,800K to 2,200K, contributing to softer and more discreet lighting, particularly suited to outdoor areas and the presence of vegetation.

This choice reinforces the architectural concept of respecting not only the landscape during the day, but also the atmosphere and the night sky.

Technology Applied to Well-Being

Innovation is also present in the areas dedicated to wellness. Following an internal seminar held by Atelier de Iluminação in partnership with NICHIA, new technological possibilities were incorporated into the project specifications.

In wet areas, such as part of the suspended thermal pool, luminaires equipped with LED technology with bactericidal properties will be used, contributing to the control of bacteria and fungi in these environments.

In addition, the project incorporates automation features and different lighting effects designed to enhance users’ comfort and well-being. Technology thus becomes not only a lighting tool, but also an integral part of the architectural experience.

Lighting Designed for the Experience

Combining efficiency, innovation, sustainability, and well-being, the Balneário Piçarras project reflects Atelier de Iluminação’s pursuit of new ways to integrate technology and architecture.

From the lighting of the suspended gardens to the wellness areas, each solution responds to the specific characteristics of the building and its relationship with the surroundings, reinforcing an approach in which light ceases to be merely a functional element and becomes part of the experience of living in the space.
